A pallet is a flat platform, used to be lifted and carried by forklifts and/or trolleys, for goods or other types of cargo in order to make their storage, management and transportation more convenient. The most common types of pallets are made of wood, metal or plastic. However, these options use lots of natural resources, for example 100 wooden pallets need 13 trees.
UAB Klaipėdos Kartono Tara manufactures not only corrugated cardboard boxes and packaging, but also corrugated cardboard pallets. These pallets are made of at least 70% recycled raw materials. Corrugated pallet manufacture reduces the use of the natural resources.
Patented UAB Klaipėdos Kartono Tara cardboard pallets can carry 800 kg and save packaging fees. With increasing packaging costs for environmental pollution, cardboard pallets offer an advantage not only in terms of being environmentally-friendly, but also saving costs.
Although cardboard pallets are disposable, their recycling is cost-free and their utilisation weight is 2 times smaller than that of wooden pallets. Quite a few companies in Lithuania accept and recycle corrugated cardboard, including cardboard pallets.
